Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at admin@therootintegrativehealth.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Therapy can provide support and guidance for a wide range of emotional, relational, and life concerns. Many clients seek therapy when they feel stuck in recurring patterns, navigating difficult life transitions, or wanting a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.

Common areas of focus include:

  • anxiety and stress
  • relationship challenges
  • family and lineage dynamics
  • grief and loss
  • life transitions
  • identity and personal development
  • emotional overwhelm
  • recurring relational or behavioral patterns

The approach is integrative and draws from several established psychological approaches, including relational, psychodynamic – depth-oriented psychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, attachment-based therapy,  through a mind-body-spirit perspective. Therapy is tailored to the individual and the patterns that emerge during the work.

Root Integrative Health is dedicated to working with adult biological women who identify as women only, and are seeking thoughtful, depth-oriented therapy and personal development. It's A No-Performance Zone – The practice is a space where women can  step outside of roles, expectations, and the pressure to maintain appearances. The focus is on honesty, reflection, and understanding of deeper patterns shaping one's life.

Many of the women who find this work most meaningful are navigating midlife transitions, family and lineage patterns, relationship challenges, questions of identity and purpose, or the desire for deeper alignment in their lives.

While women of various ages may seek suppport, the practice is particularly suited for women in early midlife and beyond (ages 30 - 65+) who are interested in reflective and insight-oriented work.

We do not offer therapy for men, couples, or families, although this work strongly supports women in these relationships. The practice is also not focused on treatment for active substance use disorders, personality disorders, or crisis-level care.

Clients who tend to benefit most from the work are those who are able to engage in therapy with a clear and sober-minded presence, and are interested in exploring patterns, relationships, and personal development with openness and curiosity.

The work at Root Integrative Health requires a willingness to fully enter the role of client and engage in a depth-oriented process of inquiry. Because of the unique dynamics that can arise in peer relationships, we generally do not provide therapy to other practicing therapists.

When a person's needs fall outside of the scope of the practice, appropriate referrals to other providers may be recommended.

Individual psychotherapy sessions are typically:

  • 50 minutes
  • 90 minutes (extended sessions when appropriate)

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to establish rapport, stability in the work and a sustained level of progress. Session frequency may shift depending on each client's needs and goals.

Sessions are currently offered via secure telehealth in Georgia and Washington, D.C. In-person is offered in Georgia only.

Details regarding fees, payment, and insurance options are found on the services page.

Beginning therapy begins with reaching out to schedule a consultation. This initial conversation provides an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are seeking and determine whether the practice may be a good fit.
